Cat. #001514424: BOB HERRON

Scarce and terrific 10x8-inch color reproduction lobby still for the Universal Horror classic The Mole People (1956), showing him in costume as one of the titular subterranean mutant Sumerians, boldly signed in black felt-tip marker. In good condition. Navy boxing champion-turned-prolific movie and television stuntman and actor Bob Herron doubled for scads of stars, including Ernest Borgnine, Ross Martin, Jackie Gleason, Cliff Robertson, Andy Griffith, and Robert Conrad. Alongside unsung players like Edwin Parker, Steve Calvert and Charlie Gemora, Herron was often made up in elaborate monster and alien costumes, notable in horror, sci-fi and fantasy flicks like Invaders from Mars (1953) and The Mole People (1956), as well as on two episodes of T.V.'s "Star Trek" (1966, 1969).
