The Adoration of the Name of Jesus – Greco
The Adoration of the Name of Jesus – Greco
The Holy Name of Jesus Christ, represented in Heaven by the Greek letters of the Savior's name, IHS, is reverenced by souls and angels in Earth, Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell. This artwork appears to have been inspired by Phil. 2:10: "That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in Heaven, on Earth, and under the Earth". Artwork by El Greco.
