Vietti Barolo 2021 is an exquisite red wine that embodies the true essence of the Piedmont region in Italy. This wine showcases a delicate and complex aromatic profile with notes of dried roses, violets, and red cherries. Its subtle hint of fine baking spice adds an extra layer of depth to its aroma, making it a true delight to the senses.

On the palate, Vietti Barolo delivers mouth-watering tannins that perfectly complement its flavors of red fruits, dried basil, and a touch of leather. This wine is rich and full-bodied, leaving a lasting impression with each sip. It pairs perfectly with hearty dishes like braised meats, roasted game, or aged cheeses.

Critic Ratings

Jeb Dunnuck Review - Rated 93:

The 2021 Barolo Castiglione is a ruby red color and is floral on the nose, opening to perfumed aromas of roses, fresh cherries, sweet herbs, and dusty earth. Medium-bodied, it has a lovely structure and is very well-balanced, and I love the apricot-noted fruit on the finish. The fruit is more present than in the 2020 version of the same wine. A fantastic vintage for this entry-level wine, I love it already and would be happy to grab a few cases to enjoy over the coming 15 years. (Moving forward, due to newly implemented labeling restrictions, they are going to remove “Castiglione” from the front label, and it will only be on noted the back label.)

Wine Spectator Review - Rated 92:

Macerated cherry, strawberry, rose hip, hay, earth and eucalyptus aromas and flavors highlight this red. Dusty tannins remain on the finish, leaving a chalky feel, yet this feels balanced. Fine length. Best from 2028 through 2042. 8,300 cases made, 4,000 cases imported.
